Po-Zu Liv Tan Boot
Wow! Since having nerve damage as a result of ankle surgery in 2014 and later being diagnosed with fibromyalgia I have struggled to find comfy short boots that also looked good. That has all changed thanks to the Liv from Po Zu.
First impression of these boots was good, they were really soft and after a few minutes my feet had cosied in to the footbed. They have a sturdy sole with a slight wedge giving a little height, perfect for me as I can't wear heels. Based on a hiking boot style but with chic extras such as a tweed collar and eye-catching red laces.
The materials used by Po-Zu make there shoes and boots ideal for anyone concerned about the environment. In particular the 'leather' isn't your normal type and is actually made from pineapple fibres! The tweed collar on this style is made with unbleached pure wool while the foot bed utilises coconut fibre to ensure air circulation and helps to keep your feet cool or warm depending on the weather. The sizing is true to size, I ordered a 42/UK 8 and they fitted it straight away.
The lacing meant I could adjust the fit to each foot which is a must for me, this has provided invaluable support meaning I didn't tweak my ankle once whilst wearing them. I have just spent a week in Disneyland Paris and thanks to these boots my feet didn't hurt once! That's an impressive statement from someone with fibromyalgia and M.E
To summarise these boots do exactly what they say: Waterproof, breathable, provided grip and look stylish. Highly recommend these boots and would expect the same from any of their styles.

Nellie O’Neil Welly Tops -
What a clever idea! These fab welly tops stop all the hay, straw and general muck getting into your boots. I don’t know about you but I hate it when you get out to the field and realise that you have a piece of hay prickling your foot with every stride. I have been using these for a few weeks now and not only have they stopped that but they mean that I don’t bring the stable home. So that’s a win on the housework front and more time for riding!
They have been designed with no zips or buttons which means the dirt doesn’t collect in any ‘pockets’ and are easy to pull on so it makes using them quick and simple. Made of a tough and water resistant material these will last for years. We have tried them on adult and children’s legs with a variety of wellies and yard boots with good results on all of them. I can imagine these would be useful for bathing horses too as nothing worse than soggy feet or for gardening. Actually for any messy job you might be doing.
They are one size but I wore them as did my 8yo niece as you will see in the video. In fact my niece even managed to fling the muck heap over her head so effectively having a muck heap shower and there were bits in her hair, top and jodhpurs but none in her boots – result!
Available in a range of colours to suit your taste, although they are one size they fit from 8.5 inches to 18 inches as they are elasticated. Available from Jumps Tack and More, priced at £8.99 in black, navy, baby pink, olive green and red

Berlei Horse Riding Bra -
I was recently asked to review this bra for Boobydoo and immediately was impressed with the quick dispatch and discreet packaging from them. On opening the wrapping I thought that the bra looked more 'normal' than some sports bras, less material and moulded support cups give a more flattering feel and look. It is a good nude/beige colour which would suit under competition shirts in the summer when we don't always wear jackets. Boobydoo asked me to perform the bounce test! As someone with larger boobs there will always be some movement but this was very supportive and left only minimal bounce. I think the shoulder straps are a good width which helps with this and along with the wide strap across the back distribute the pressure evenly. It is made from lightweight fabric that stays cool even when working hard, I felt so comfortable in it all day that I forgot I was wearing it. The bra washed brilliantly and dried quickly without losing its shape or going bobbly. I have been wearing it every day so washed when home (in a bra bag) on a 40 degree with other clothes and it was dry by morning in the airing cupboard. I highly recommend the Berlei riding bra to all equestrians but imagine it would be equally as good for other high impact sports. If you have tried other sports bras and been disappointed I would say try this one before giving up hope!

My Horse Box January Subscription Box -
I was really excited to be asked to review the January box from My Horse Box. It is a great new subscription service and this is a summary of how it works. Every month a box will be delivered to your house which will contain a minimum of five products for horse and rider, a Q&A interview with a famous or up and coming well known rider along with a high quality print and exclusive discounts. It has taken of massively on social media and is growing every month with more and more people enjoying the treat yourself surprise element. A subscription would also make an amazing gift for that equestrian friend or family member. Currently you can chose from three options 3 or 6 month pre-pay subscription or on a month to month basis. So lets get onto what I thought of my January box!
My first impressions were that the parcel had been well packaged and labelled. On removing the packaging I was greeted with an attractive black box with a silver rearing horse logo. The instant you pick up the box it shouts luxury, this is no flimsy standard cardboard! The box was sealed with a circular white sticker which again bore the companies logo. Lifting the lid I was so excited to see what would be in there, the next layer was silver tissue paper with another sticker. It just says high end and shows that care has been taken in packing and to make you feel special. Ontop of the products is a black welcome card with their gold logo and a couple of short sentences to describe what this months box is about. Next was a contents card with short explanations of the products hidden below along with a Q&A with showjumper Chloe Aston and a print from Event Through A Lens of Chloe in the speed knock out at Liverpool International Horse Show. Now probably the best bit, time for products! The January box contained five full size products as listed below:

I felt the box contained a good mix of useful products for horse and rider that reflected the time of year. I was pleased to see that safety was being promoted with the hat band that not only is hi-viz and reflective but also features three settings of lights. All the products are full size bottles, pots or packets so you know that you are getting good value. They have been tested by various human and equine members at the yard and all have received good reviews, the hand cream is my personal top product as my hands really suffered moving yards but it restored them within a couple of days. I have looked online and for the products above you would be looking at well over £40 not including any postage costs. It also has discount codes for Safe-Care Equine, Equine Happy and Bespoke&Personal to use in later months. This box subscription is suitable for a wide range of ages and for both male and female recipients. I wish I could afford to have a box delivered every month! WoofWear Horizon Waterproof Riding Boots -
First impression of these boots was good, they resemble a sort of walking/hiking shoe boot. They have a sturdy appearance without being over bulky although they are bigger than jodphur boots. Made from nubuck leather in black or brown they are completely waterproof and have withstood the wet weather we have experienced. Even though they are waterproof they are breathable so your feet don't get really sweaty even when wearing them all day. I don't fully understand how it works but somehow you don't slip in the mud but if needed the boot releases from the stirrup. I have felt confident wearing these for both flatwork and having a little jump, I even felt so secure that my rising 4yo had his first canter in an open field with me wearing these!
I have had ligament reconstruction on one ankle and I was pleased that the lacing meant I could adjust the fit to each foot. These has provided invaluable support meaning I haven't tweaked the ligament repair since wearing them. My Mum has even borrowed these to fence judge on a couple of occasions at British Eventing and she quite often gets stiff after a whole day in boots but in these she has reported being fine the next day. The other thing is that when arrive at the event early the grass is quite often wet with dew but you don't want a big boot on so these are fab. They kept her feet dry first thing but were cool enough later in the day. She found them so comfy and liked them so much she is now seriously considering buying a pair for herself.
To summarise these boots do exactly what they say: Waterproof, breathable and grip on the wet mud. I have tested them for over a month and found no problems so would say they are versatile and durable for everyday yard work and riding. Highly recommend these boots.

BiteBack Products B-Flex Dynamic Massage Cream -
This is a massage cream that aims to soothe and tone tired sore muscles and helps to soothe strains.
I have been trialling this on Layla as she tends to get some tightness behind the saddle. After work I have been applying one pump to each side of her back and massaging in well. Layla really enjoys having it done and it smells nice too. She is definitely happier to be more supple in her work since using this alongside carrot stretches. I also have used it on myself and it helped to soothe an old injury in my ankle.
It is very easy to apply as comes in a bottle with a pump so no wasting it when the bottle gets knocked over and is available in different sizes. It doesn't take long for it to be absorbed into the skin so if pushed for time then a quick massage is all that is needed and isn't sticky so leaves your hands feeling nourished.
BiteBack Products are hand-made from the finest ingredients they can find sourced from within the EEC and as far as is practicable the UK. Wherever possible, they use natural ingredients with the highest safety record. This particular product contains Arnica, Aloe Vera, Benzyl Alcohol, Silicones and Natural Oils
The final thumbs up has to be for their customer service, they are brilliant to talk to and ask advice. The delivery costs are very fair and I received my items quickly.
If you order anything from them please say we sent you and then Enjoy!

GlowPony Coconut Oil -
Squirt had overreached and it just wouldn't heal as kept cracking. Amanda had kindly sent us a pot of Coconut Oil to try and it seemed the ideal opportunity. I am really impressed with the results from it. I applied a good layer of coconut oil and massaged in once daily. For a horse that lives out this was a brilliant product as the oil repels a lot of the dirt whilst doing its magic. It was also very easy to apply as is solid and melts when warm for example on the skin.
Photos from left to right:
Day One - dry weather so all looking clean. Made sure by spraying with some RenaSan on it then once dry applied a good layer of the solid oil, making sure I had massaged it in well.
Day Five - wet muddy day, Squirt had been having fun so before I could look at it I needed to clean him off a bit. Pleased that even though it's been wet the cut is looking good. Repeated the cleaning with Renasan and then application of Coconut Oil.
Day Eight - Nothing to say really! Where's the cut?! Definitely the quickest I've had a fully turned out horse heal a cut in that area.
